What is culture? Everything.

As we discussed the word 'culture' in class, culture is tradition, language, food, religion, art, history, and so on. In my own opinion, culture defined as everything surrounds us in daily life. Culture is so important to us because it represents who you are. Different culture produce different individual and that is why culture makes you feel you're unique. However, a person who came to the place where culture is different will experience so-called 'culture shock' and it is commonly occurs to almost every international student. In order to solve this problem, we have to take our time to adapt and accept their culture. At last, doesn't matter where we are, we must pass down the culture to our generation.

Differences between UWEC students and students in Malaysia.

After my 1st week in UW-Eau Claire, I found that there’re a couple of differences between students in UW-Eau Claire and students in Malaysia. First, students in Malaysia tend to be shy and students in UWEC are friendly. UWEC students are more emphasize on their organizations and clubs, but students in Malaysia are not willing to spend too much time on clubs and activities. Besides, during the lecture, UWEC students are bravely to voice out their curiosity in a particular question and most of the Malaysian students will just questioning after class. In the resident hall, UWEC students always keep their door open because of they always welcome people and Malaysian students rather keep the door closed. In addition, UWEC students preferred to have a study group, Malaysian students rather to study alone. Even though both of them have some differences, but I believe most of them have the same goal, that’s get a good grade and eventually graduate from their univerisity.
